SnapAtOnce

Help and Support

Press and hold the Action button to start your selected photo or video capture.

First-time setup

  1. Open SnapAtOnce and allow Camera and add-only Photos access. Video with sound also needs Microphone access.
  2. Choose Photo or Video, a camera and a saving mode. Photos support 1, 3 or 5 shots and Fastest, 0.2 s or 0.5 s intervals. Defaults: Photo, 3 shots, 0.2 s, rear 1×, flash off, Manual saving.
  3. In iPhone Settings → Action Button, swipe to Controls and tap the button below it. Select SnapAtOnce Camera.
  4. From the Lock Screen or with the screen off, press and hold the Action button. A photo burst completes automatically. For video, tap Stop to finish recording.

Cameras and flash

Zoom offers rear 1×, 2× and 3×, plus Front camera. 0.5× appears when an ultra-wide camera is available. 3× uses a suitable telephoto camera when available, otherwise digital zoom. The front preview is mirrored; saved captures are not. Flash is available for rear-camera photos and may slow the burst.

Manual and automatic saving

Manual: tap the thumbnail after capture to review. Save the selected photo or all items, or discard an unsaved item. Videos can be played, saved or discarded. After leaving, find drafts under Unsaved captures in Settings. Saved items cannot be saved again.

Automatic: completed photos and stopped videos are added directly to Photos. Tap the thumbnail to review this session. Locked review does not unlock and hand off for deletion; use Photos to delete saved items. In the unlocked main-app camera, the current automatically saved item can be deleted with Photos access and system confirmation.

Opening settings

After initial permission setup, open SnapAtOnce from the Home Screen and tap the gear in the viewfinder. Opening the app normally or returning from review does not capture automatically. Launching with the Action button starts your selected media capture.

Compatibility

Requires iOS 18 or later. The Action button entry requires an iPhone with an Action button. Capture timing depends on the device, light and system state. Zoom may include digital magnification. Video orientation is set when recording starts.

If access is denied

Open SnapAtOnce, tap Open Settings and allow the required Camera, add-only Photos or Microphone access, then return to SnapAtOnce.

Missing captures or errors

Check permissions and the saving mode first: manual drafts do not appear in Photos until you save them. For persistent errors, send the exact error text, saved item count, iPhone model and iOS version to support. Please do not send unnecessary private photos.

Language

The same app includes English and Simplified Chinese. iOS selects a supported language from your preferences. The language of system prompts and Apple error details is controlled by iOS.
